WALKING

Picture
View this interactive map of our Parish in the Saturday Walkers Club website
Stoke St Milborough is ideally situated for anyone wishing to go for a walk in the magnificent South Shropshire countryside. The Shropshire Way runs through the parish and the Clee hills are easily accessed on foot via a network of public footpaths.  Corvedale is just over the ridge to the north of the village and the common land of Clee Liberty offers free and open access to stunning unspoiled surroundings.
NB: Stoke St Milborough is situated within the Shropshire Hills Natural Landscape and is surrounded by working farms. You will encounter livestock wherever you go, and so it is vital that dogs are kept on a lead and that you follow the Countryside Code at all times. Enjoy our wonderful landscapes, but please remember to look after them and leave them as you found them. Thank you!
An ongoing project in association with Shropshire Council is our Parish Paths Partnership, which got fully underway in 2023. A merry band of village volunteers come together several times a year to assess and repair stiles and gateways on footpaths within our parish. Participation is entirely flexible and timings vary, so there are plenty of opportunities to dip in and out as per your availability and ability to commit. A dedicated WhatsApp group is used to let everyone know when the next volunteer day is happening and what work will be undertaken.
If you would like to find out more, get in touch with us and we will connect you with the organisers.
Parish Paths Photo Album
If you discover an access issue on a public footpath within the local area, you can report it here and the Parish Paths Partnership will assess it.
